Strawberry Shortcake

There are so many different ways to make strawberry shortcake that I wonder how many recipes there actually are. My mom uses biscuits whereas my grandmother uses angel food cake, and I have even seen pound cake used as well. I like to crush up my own strawberries and add sugar to them and put it on the angel food cake and just put a ridiculous pile of Cool Whip on top of it all. How do you make yours?
